Experience
Mark Basurto is an experienced trial and appellate attorney who has handled matters in state and federal court, as well as through arbitration, mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution.  Mr. Basurto regularly represents businesses, shareholders and other individuals in a variety of business-related disputes involving unfair and deceptive trade practices, tortious interference with business relationships, misappropriation of trade secrets, fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, shareholder disputes, contract disputes and other harmful business practices.  Mr. Basurto's business litigation practice also includes the representation of franchisors.  In addition, Mr. Basurto represents attorneys and accountants in malpractice actions and other disputes where the professional’s work and reputation are at issue.

Mr. Basurto is admitted to practice in Florida, Georgia, the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida, the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Georgia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.

Mr. Basurto is a member of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar, the Business Law Section of the Georgia Bar, the Federal Bar Association and the Hillsborough County Bar Association.  Mr. Basurto regularly speaks to business owners and executives about managing their business relationships to avoid potential conflicts and litigation.  Mr. Basurto is a member of the Board of Directors for The Children's Museum of Tampa.  He is also a  member of Leadership Tampa, class of 2007, and a 2003 graduate of Tampa Connection.

Mr. Basurto was born in New York, New York and raised in Miami, Florida.
