Experience
As Chair of the Business, Tax and Corporate Finance Practice Group, John Giordano is regularly involved in complex business-related transactions.  Mr. Giordano’s practice encompasses a broad range of areas, including federal and state securities law, corporate finance, mergers, acquisitions and tax law. Mr. Giordano has substantial experience in counseling clients, including start-up enterprises, in obtaining capital and advising clients about obstacles to successfully growing a business.  Mr. Giordano has acted as general corporate counsel for numerous Florida-based public and private corporations, including Checkers Drive-In Restaurants, Inc., Grand Expeditions, Inc., Advantec, Spartan Staffing, Inc., PowerSports, Inc., and Shells Seafood Restaurants, Inc.

Mr. Giordano has served on the Board of Directors of various private and public companies, including Shells Seafood Restaurants, Inc. and Powersports, Inc. Mr. Giordano has also been active in a variety of community and civic activities in the Tampa Bay area including serving as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of St. Mary’s Episcopal Day School and serving as a member of the vestry of St. John’s Episcopal Church, the Kiwanis Club of Palma Ceia, the Exchange Club, the Tampa Bay Estate Planning Council, the Tampa Bay Real Estate Council, the Board of Counselors at the University of Tampa and St. Joseph’s Development Council.  Mr. Giordano has received recognition as one of the Best Lawyers in America, as a member of Florida's "Legal Elite" by Florida Trend Magazine, and also as a "Super Lawyer" by Florida Super Lawyers Magazine.  Mr. Giordano has been awarded an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell.
