Christopher M. Hart
Mr. Hart is the Practice Group Leader of the firm’s Casualty and Insurance Defense department. His practice focuses on trucking and transportation defense, premises liability, negligent security, product liability, Dram Shop, property damage, and medical malpractice. His clients consist of large, self-insured businesses, national companies, local small businesses, individuals, and insurance carriers. He has extensive experience defending his clients in both state and federal court and has handled numerous, high value, high stakes cases through successful resolution. While settling the case is at times the preferred and pragmatic approach, Mr. Hart has a passion for trial work that started back in law school as a member of Stetson’s Number 1 nationally ranked trial team. Over the course of his legal career, he has been fortunate enough to gain extensive trial experience, an important consideration should one of his clients’ cases warrant a jury trial.
In addition to his litigation experience, Mr. Hart enjoys counseling his clients on best practices, policy amendments, recent changes in the law, and frequently volunteers his time to conduct meetings and seminars with commercial drivers and employees of multi-family housing, retail and food and beverage establishments to discuss these issues. Recently, he gave a CLE presentation to claims adjusters on Florida’s new Tort Reform Law passed in March of 2023.
