Curtis L. Allen
Curt Allen is a Shareholder at Bush Ross and leads the First-Party Property Insurance Group. His team is highly talented, experienced, and, proficient in all aspects of both pre-suit and post-matters. Mr. Allen has tried more than 300 cases to jury as lead counsel. He has successfully argued his clients’ positions before numerous District Courts of Appeal and generated significant opinions in first-party property law.
Mr. Allen was born and raised in Tampa, Florida. While earning his undergraduate degree at Valdosta State University, Mr. Allen was a member of the varsity football team. He excelled academically, ultimately graduating cum laude while balancing the demands of being a collegiate athlete. Upon graduation from Valdosta State University, Mr. Allen was an educator at Buchanan Junior High School in Tampa, Florida, also serving as the school’s track coach. Thereafter, he attended Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, earning several awards and recognitions. Mr. Allen began his legal career by serving the people of the State of Florida for over a decade as an Assistant State Attorney in the Tampa, Florida, State Attorney’s Office of the Thirteenth Judicial Circuit. He rose to the level of Felony Division Chief assigned to the Homicide and Violent Crime Bureaus, along with several Letter Divisions. Mr. Allen handled several high-profile cases, being featured on “Court TV” on many occasions, prosecuting nearly every crime in existence, including R.I.C.O. violations based on wiretap applications, first-degree murders, and, death penalty cases. He now practices first-party property law and uses the same passion and diligence to represent his clients.
