Bush Ross Proudly Participates in John Germany Young Readers "Read to Dream" Initiative
October 23, 2017
A team of Bush Ross attorneys will read to students at Graham Elementary School for a semester as part of the John Germany Young Readers "Read to Dream" Initiative. Read to Dream is a volunteer reading program created to address the lowest reading levels of children in Hillsborough County Public Schools. On a weekly basis, volunteers participate by providing engaging reading activities and books for at-risk and under-served children. The program consists of two eight-week sessions held during each school year, once in the Fall and once in the Spring.
Goals of Read to Dream include:
- Share and promote the enjoyment of reading with children,
- Assist school-aged children in their ability to read at grade level,
- Expose children to the classics, especially Caldecott, Coretta Scott King and Newberry award-winning titles, and
- Most importantly, put books into the hands of children
