Bush Ross Shareholder Carter Andersen Elected Chair of the Thirteenth Circuit Judicial Nominating Commission
Carter Andersen, a Bush Ross shareholder, was elected Chair of the Thirteenth Circuit Judicial Nomination Commission. This is a nonpartisan, nine-member commission of lawyers who locate, recruit, investigate, and evaluate applicants for circuit and county judgeships in Hillsborough County, Thirteenth Circuit of Florida. Mr. Andersen will serve a one-year term as Chair and is serving in his eleventh year on the Thirteenth Circuit JNC, where he was first appointed in 2010 by Governor Charlie Crist, and reappointed twice by Governor Rick Scott.
Mr. Andersen is Bush Ross’ Commercial Litigation Practice Group Leader and a member of the Firm’s Executive Committee. Mr. Andersen’s practice is dedicated to helping clients solve problems and achieve success. He focuses on business, commercial and contract disputes, general commercial litigation matters, and business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Andersen serves on the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar and is a Past President of the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Mr. Andersen also has served on the University of Florida Alumni Association Board of Directors and currently serves as the Vice Chair of UF Law College Association Board of Trustees. Mr. Andersen received his undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and his juris doctorate degree, cum laude, from the University of Florida Levin College of Law.
